What kind of sales training and enablement can someone expect coming in from the outside into an SMB AE role?

Do the sales managers and leaders spend time ensuring that new reps are set up for success and coached to be effective closers or is the expectation that you figure it out yourself?

Two out of the three SMB teams don’t have managers (one no longer with company and one promoted). So there’s no one really helping the new hires. It’s frustrating.

Even when we did have managers, they are spread VERY thin.

You will certainly get a lot of the basics in Boot Camp (enablement and the team do a great job preparing you). From there, yes, you will get help and guides from your leader; however, there is also onus on you.

They hired you for a reason and you like have sales (closing background) and understand how to be an effective closer and what you need to do. Additionally, the responsibility is on you to keep you eyes open and your ear close to the ground -- who is a good seller on the team? What are they doing differently? Put time on their calendar and put the fate of your career in your own hands to learn more and grow as a profession.

If you need help from your manager, for sure ask and I'm confident they will help you. If you sit around and wait for your manager to train you and tell you what you need to do, it might be difficult at Dialpad (and really any other sales job/organization you go to).
