What is Diversity like in the Sales organization at Dell? Are there equal representations of Female and Minority leaders throughout all ranks of the Sales Org?

Front line sales has a decent (but not equal) representation of female leaders, particularly in the inside sales organization. In the field the difference is still pretty significant, but honestly, it's getting better.  The current leader of Sales globally put a lot of effort in developing and promoting women over the last five years and there's been a positive impact to that strategy overall. Minority is a different situation. VERY few minority leaders across sales, with most being in early career inside sales roles. In the field or in the executive ranks there are virtually zero minority leaders, and many of those who have made it to the senior leader or executive roles have left the company due to lack of advancement opportunity or were part of the recent RIF actions. It's especially tough for Hispanic leaders, which is ironic since the company is headquartered in a state that's almost 30% Hispanic.

This depends on the department you are in. SB and MB have a quite a bit of diversity for the LGBT and African American communities in leadership. Many managers, RSM, site directors and VPs would fit into that category. There is more diversity here than I have seen at other companies.

Unless you are 20-30 years old forget it. Dell just laid off almost 8000 employees with the vast majority being over the age of 30 and most having extended careers at Dell. If you are looking for company that values diversity and their employees, you will not find it here.
