Can anyone share insights/experience selling into the Enterprise in a hunter role? Particularly in the healthcare vert? Reviews/feedback seem to suggest new business is almost impossible to hit quota.

I left this specific team earlier this year. Barring a dramatic shift in available investments in partners and customers to make the GTM. motion work, as well as comp plans designed for hunters (and not just adapted from Strat teams), the hunting role is a major role of the dice for a seller entering the org from outside. Going into their next FY which starts Feb 1, there could be a shift in accounts which lands you an account or two that are already moving with traction on a well defined use case and a solid SA to get the customer technically onboarded and using. If you're starting from scratch, prepare for upwards of 6 months with minimal meaningful variable comp. They're a great company and will continue to grow and succeed on product/market fit alone, so you're in for a great name on a resume and the possible IPO celebrations this is a rare spot with the escape velocity to do get you that. Just be prepared to live off your base for a while or get into a Named or Strat role. There are a few middle managers who know what the hunting role should look like, but they have not yet been empowered by senior leadership to implement it (though that could happen when the FY rolls over).
