Back to ReviewsFormer Employee Overall, Cisco isn't a horrible place to work and it is good experience to have on your resume. Your quotas are based on past performance in whatever region you're assigned to, but it's a bit of a crapshoot whether or not you're going to get a good leader to help you reach your goals. Some accounts are automatic, while others are a bit tough to work with due to the product mix they consume and their willingness to look at cheaper competitive alternatives. It can be frustrating at times to see some folks just hit numbers with little to no effort while you struggle to get your accounts to spend. The goals are really beyond your control for the most part, and thus, your compensation may have to rely on gimmicks like SPIFFs for you to hit your OTE targets. From a diversity standpoint, the company appears committed to inclusion, at least through words, but it doesn't feel that way in sales for whatever reason. It sometimes feels that poor performers do better than good ones, or get retained during downsizing events that happen frequently, just because of their relationship to leadership. That can be frustrating. Browse Other Reviews
