The commission structure changed last year and is now on a bonus structure which has mad it difficult to increase earnings.

In the past year the company has gone from 3,000+ employees to 1,700. Except they have only admitted to laying off 40. The rest have been fired for no cause at all or performance excuses after implementing a new compensation restructuring. Compensation as a coverage team lead is pretty average, wasn’t enough to motivate me a significant amount. Once you become team lead in coverage you’re basically stuck. There’s nowhere else for you to get promoted unless your current boss happens to leave. My superiors and coworkers were pretty good people.

Market is over saturated with brokers right now, so it’s a tough market to be selling in. I’ve been hearing the market will flip in the next 6 months, but not sure if that will be the case with how many brokers and carriers are in the market currently.
