terrible management. the cheetah obsessed "leader" of the Chicago area is out of touch and almost never around. Leads using fear tactics. The managers are running around trying to please him and mainly worried about their own jobs. Absolutely no training when starting. No real promotion path. many AMs are stuck in their roles for years and even when a management role opened they basically told everyone that they already had someone in mind. AWS may be good to have on your resume but its not worth it. Stay away especially if its a Chicago based SMB role.

I think reps at AWS are noticeably less happy with their territories, sales plans, and leadership. Leadership is clueless, managed by people who have ridden the growth wave, and have no idea how to build a real sales organization now that things are getting competitive from other hyperscalers, or platforms like Snowflake/Databricks in the cloud.
