How is the att sales development program?

If you mean training, generally poor. I was with the company for 5 years until about 2 weeks ago and was a manager, so I went through most of the training they offer as well as trained reps myself. Mostly just watching useless training videos and light roleplaying. Employees are treated horrible.

Its a great program especially when you're first starting out into tech sales/business development. What makes the program effective is that you can be in any field and be able to adapt to the sales sector if you have the tools to succeed. There is a training at ATT University which is located at ATT Global Headquarters in Dallas, TX. Then you go into the real-world training where utilize what you've learned to engage with potential clients throughout the sales process. The program last from 4-7 months with being able to hit goals every month to stay in the program when you make it to month 7.  You are on track to graduate and be assigned to your territory. The key to success is to have drive, ambition and be coachable.

Each job is different...When I was hired I had a month of training sessions.  Some were helpful, some were not.  I agree with the answer above, the best way to learn is by trying different things in a real world customer environment.

Training is generally poor. The quotas are no where near what you’ll see in the field. Many of the managers had much smaller quotas before being promoted and have no clue to hit the number. Lots of serious ethics issues when I was there, because managers were better at cheating than selling.

They used to have a one week training out of Texas (ATT University) however they no longer offer it. You’ll shadow and sit through calls with heavy hitters on the team, however there’s no actual training in place when you first start. Unfortunately it’s mostly trial and error.
