Working at Vivint Smart Home was a mixed experience for me—neither the best nor the worst. On the positive side, I gained valuable sales skills that have proven to be useful beyond just this job. The financial rewards were also significant, as I was able to make great money. However, the role became a relentless grind, both mentally and physically. As a technician, I was constantly exposed to extreme weather conditions, whether it was the scorching heat of summer or the freezing cold of winter. The physical demands of the job—climbing ladders, installing equipment, and troubleshooting systems—took a toll on my body over time. The mental aspect was equally challenging; the pressure to meet sales quotas, handle customer expectations, and troubleshoot technical issues added up. Eventually, the combination of these factors led to burnout. What once felt like a great opportunity turned into a demanding routine that left me drained. While I appreciate the skills and financial benefits I gained, the overall experience taught me the importance of work-life balance and finding a career path that aligns with both my strengths and well-being.
