What is the sales culture like at Remote, and what can prospective employees expect from the sales leadership?

The 2 comments that are obviously from real IC sales people at Remote are accurate.  The other is clearly leadership or a community manager trying to manage the backlash.  However, what they describe is not TOO far from the truth.  You'll have 1:1's with your manager, it's up to you to work with your SDR, and your CSC.

Leadership, including the VP of Sales and 2 Co Founders are supporting in escalting things and getting deals over the hump, but I don't know if that's actually helped anyone close a deal faster.

But the real take away is the 2, real comments.  Those are accurate.  This place was great in 2021, 2022.  Since H2 2022 and onward it's been a mess.  Tons of favoritism, so it's feast or famine, and the first reps that joined get all the favoritism.  It's all politics internally.  No promotions or upward mobility to speak of.  Outside of that, it's a revolving door of your Manager, SDR, and CSM assignments and the lack of consistency makes it impossible to achieve anything.

As a salesperson, your time is better spent elsewhere from an ROI perspective.  Most of us are actively looking or starting to.

It depends what you're looking for... don't expect to learn anything, constant changes to org structure, quotas change every quarter (crazy) and leadership seem lost. The founders don't have sales backgrounds which is fine but they have not hired strong leaders to bring in those skills.

Not the best at all. It used to be great when they were a real startup. Now, as they transitioned to corporate, targets are unachievable, executive team inaccessible to anyone and careless about reps and leaders are rather bosses who see you as a number and will not be of any help. + No career path

There are lot of changes as our GTM evolves, so one needs to be ok with constant change. Targets change pretty much every quarter and they are only go one way... UP!

The sales organization, as the entire company, is fully async, working remotely. The company and Sales Managers recognize you are a responsible professional and you work on your own schedule by following the company's policies. You are the owner of your time and fulfilling your responsibilities. On the other hand, we have weekly 1:1 with our managers, and a Bi-weekly team meeting (all virtual). Sales Managers are here to support and eliminate the hurdles or obstacles that may arise in the process. We also count on a Customer Success team and the help of Business Consultants. Even more, if needed, our leadership team, from the President and CEO can be called upon to participate in customer calls. It is a lovely company to work for.
