Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee Unfortunately, there is not much of an Enterprise market for this open source technology bundle (MySQL + Vitess), especially considering that the only deployment mode offered is public cloud and managed by PlanetScale.
The really large MySQL shops that require massive scalability want an on-prem option and to be able to manage it themselves if they so desire.
PlanetScale is churning through sales VPs and seasoned enterprise reps, which is not where the problem lies.
