OpenTable
Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee The OpenTable product suite is great but there are huge headwinds with selling the product in many markets across the US. You are often selling a product that is 4-5x's the cost of the competition and that can be challenging for most restaurant operators.
The Kayak team has been slowing filling the exec leadership with their own people as they continue to push longtime OT leadership out the door for their own loyalists. This has unfortunately eroded most of the awesome company culture that was built up over the years and there are few left that still truly love the place. The exec leadership now is obsessed with hard cold numbers and are not very receptive to more wholistic view of the business. So, if you want to get anything done, you better find a way to calculate a quantifiable ROI. If you can't translate an initiative that you'd like to test into how much money it will return, then don't bother asking. That sort of leadership approach continues to be a drag on the company.
