My overall experience was negative working with Meraki. The company was rampant with original leadership that was with Meraki before Cisco acquired it in 2012. Therefore any promotions were favored for those who had formed relationships with these leaders early on. I was recently laid off like everyone else being axed in the tech industry. I see this as a blessing because I have been stuck in a dead end AE role since joining Meraki. I also had three managers in my time there and would see tenured reps leave due to being passed over for promotions. Even when they were the best selling reps consistently exceeding quota.

Meraki is being swallowed by Cisco and is losing the values it once cherished. I won't be surprised if the brand ceases to exist in the next couple of years. While our products remain the best on the market, we are now following Cisco's guidelines, which means everything takes a long time to get done. Good place to start in tech sales. Wouldn’t recommend to someone who’s been in the industry for a while this role is a stepping stone to either move to greater Cisco or get a job at another tech company that pays more. They have great learning and enablement. Leadership / management is 50/50 good and bad.
