Marqeta is an amazing opportunity on paper. The problem stems from C-Level leadership, mainly the CMO, down to the lack of stateside leadership for the sales team. They approach problem solving by assigning blame and applying bandaids. SDR teams need leadership with the relevant skills, not micromanagers with no sales skills. Training is so fragmented and once you finish the required training there is no leadership for the bdr team outside from marketing leadership with little to no sales experience. They have not had leadership since fall 2023 with no indication of any progress made on the hiring process for an bdr team manager.
