The Solution Specialist role at Kaseya is a great opportunity for those early in their sales career to test their skills and gain experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. However, it’s important to set expectations: the On-Target Earnings (OTE) is not representative for most, as only 10-15% of specialists are consistently hitting their quotas. This structure appears intentional, as leadership believes quotas are too low if more than the top earners are achieving them. While the company emphasizes promoting from within, this often translates to lower compensation for internal promotions compared to external hires. Management tends to view employees as replaceable, which can impact morale and career satisfaction. I have yet to meet a specialist or sales engineer who feels content or fulfilled in their current role—most are actively seeking opportunities elsewhere. Overall, this role is ideal for building foundational skills and resilience in tech sales, but long-term growth and job satisfaction may be limited for many.
