From the reviews, it seems as though Deels culture is toxic. As someone coming from another toxic company and is really looking for a place where I can grow and remain for a long time with a positive culture, is Deel that place?

Deel is hard to compare to other orgs that have been operating for decades.

- Fastest company growth for early-stage companies in history. Faster than Uber, Stripe, Airbnb, ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc when they were in their hyper-growth. All great organization, so a testament to the PFM and TAM we're in.

Working for the fastest growing company in the world comes with some challenges, as some reviews may speak to "Deel Speed."

Our average sales tenure, for this young of a company, is rivaling great sales orgs with more established/decades of operations. The reality of those who are thriving in the Deel family is that they understand Deel provides a unique opportunity that outweighs any setbacks of hyper-growth challenges. They're able to realize career aspirations and find it a great fit long-term.

Most toxic place I've ever worked. Blatant favoritism, certain reps get handed the best opportunities, other reps left to starve. There are a handful of okay managers, but you will likely end up on a bad manager's team. They all role up to a robot of a leader who has a massive ego and little actual experience. Most leaders in this company have very little experience outside of Deel and simply do as they are told and emulate the toxic behaviors from the csuite. Would not recommend it to anyone really.

As a former employee of Deel, I found the culture to be very toxic and was the main contributor to why I transitioned from the organization. I do believe it will greatly depend on who your manager is. My manager was a narcissist, who consistently micromanaged, deflected blame, and was manipulative.

The director of sales at Deel preaches the ability to play politics to advance within an organization. Similar to other answers, my experience was very toxic and unless you're willing and able to play politics and work many hours beyond 9-5 it likely isn't a great place to remain long-term. There are some decent managers while others need much much more development in their leadership skills and emotional intelligence. I've seen reps get fired for speaking out regarding the inconsistency of lead distribution, training, loss of benefits/compensation that was agreed upon signing, and much more. If you look at their Glassdoor responses to negative reviews, they'll make the rep out to be the problem on why they were let go and that they aren't a fit for their culture.

Deel is the most toxic company I ever worked for. Experience will depend on market and segment - I can only speak to SMB NAM. Inbound lead flow was inconsistent and there was blatant favoritism on what was given to whom. There are favorites and if you aren't one, you will pay in many ways. Sales leadership is immature, vindictive and unprofessional. Reps are great but the management is pretty bad and senior leadership is absolutely clueless and out of touch.

Deel is the most toxic sales org I’ve ever worked. There’s a running joke that Deel doesn’t have a culture, just a grind mindsset. A shame, because the product is unreal, money is great. If you want a solid to sell product but don’t care about culture, perks, or vacation, Deel is the place for you.

really depends on your manager and team tbh. If you get lucky it can be a very very nice experience. But if you're unlucky like me than your manager dictates your life and you're stuck, even if you're overperforming... In short, I'd describe it as toxic. Great product and momentum but culture isn't the best. Just check Glassdoor reviews.

Stay away. I worked for this company for nearly two years and Deel is about as bad as it gets for "toxic" culture. You will not grow and will be held to unrealistic quota attainment. There have been several folks that a terminated without cause and given no notice (no PIP). Save yourself your time and energy and look elsewhere

The answer will be no if you're looking for a long-term, mature, and intelligent atmosphere in a well-organized company. Deel is definitely not it, but it's still miles better than Oyster, which is about to go bankrupt, and Remote.com, which has lost its race to Deel. There is still money to be made in Global Payroll, and Deel will definitely IPO late 2024 or early 2025. By then, it will solidify its power,  the omnipresent, remofirst and Oysters of the world will go bust, and Deel will probably rake up their remaining clients

Current Deel employee for >2 years and I find it great! Outstanding talent, helpful peers, high performing teams

The people who don't do well here are typically not engaging with peers, not great with remote work, or can't manage change management well

Wish everyone who comments would list whether they were terminated due to under-performance or if they quit voluntarily. Our attrition rate is very low on voluntary attrition. We operate as a meritocracy and the best people have very successful career trajectories.

Toxic can mean different things to different people. If Deel was toxic, we wouldn't be seeing the success we're seeing. Growth doesn't happen without a sales team. We just hit $500m ARR (as of Feb 2024) and some people just aren't cut out for what's required in a high-growth environment.
