The company has created a commission structure that they regret - the sales reps are profiting more than they planned and to keep the company afloat they are laying off top sales people.

No investment into marketing. No sales leadership. Cold calling is the only tactic. Constant churn of reps. Use your own laptop. Doomed to failure.
