Back to ReviewsFormer Employee Cisco is going through a transformation. There are multiple forces at play. Culturally, Cisco is embracing DEI at an aggressive level. There are people getting promoted into very senior roles who are legitimately under qualified, which is alarming. In addition, Cisco has become an Acquisition company. Internal R&D is not what it used to be and the company is not innovating. They missed the opportunity to enter Cloud, didn't capitalize on Covid with video conferencing like Zoom did, and has not managed the Enterprise Security offerings appropriately. The story is disjointed. It's a "buffet" of point products. Is it still a great place to start or grow your career? Yes. Is it a place to be a "lifer" like so many who are holding on? No. Get the experience, learn the industry, try and move up at least once, and then move to a more innovative company or a growth company if you want to experience what it is to see a customer embrace your solutions with excitement versus being out-maneuvered on the chess board to buy more Cisco. At the end of the day, it's corporate America. There are much worse situations if you made it in. Browse Other Reviews
