What is the cultural environment like within the sales team at Showpad?

The company is rudderless and is not a serious player in the enterprise space.  The leadership team is incredibly weak

It depends on the team but overall it's unfortunately significantly declined. The product is no longer competitive against both established players and up and coming products so getting new business has become increasingly difficult. It's sweet spot is really around smaller mid-market teams but even those have seen close rates across the board go down.

All top performing sales people hit quota due to renewals - mostly from accounts that were closed by people before them. If you are lucky enough to get some of those accounts - yea, it's a great gig! If you aren't, they churn through you pretty fast. The enterprise sales team has had 2 full team firings in the past 18 months.

Lastly, the sales leadership is kinda community college quality. Most of the directors are nice but they just aren't very good at either sales or management - it wouldn't be a big deal but their expected to close the last mile of deals and it causes stress watching hard work be fumbled. The CRO is laughably out of date and still struggles to understand the sales enablement market.

If you're really interested in sales enablement, I would look at Seismic, Highspot, or Allego. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere - the ship (and the revenue) has sailed on Showpad

Showpad is a decent player, but competition is gaining ground. New leadership's strategy is commendable, but there's a challenge in its adoption, leading to increased micromanagement and inconsistency with company values. Frontline managers excel but seem under heightened pressure. Thoughtful consideration of these dynamics could contribute to our continued success.
