Park Place Technologies
Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee It’s a good company overall. Great perks, gym in the basement, yoga, lunch brought in (you buy it) and a cafe/coffee shop in the morning hours for purchase. They are upgrading buildings so I anticipate amenities getting better than they are now.
Base pay is horrible, about 12k less than normal tech companies. Commission doesn’t really pay until you book over $500k (very rare in your first year). $0-$500k sold is 3% or $15k in commission. After $500k it jumps to 7% and a million plus is 11%. Hitting quota pays a 2% bonus at beginning of the year so there’s that.
Sales cycles can be 1 week to months and years. You’re selling extended warranty on data center equipment like servers, storage and network gear so you’re really trying to get in at year 3 and beyond. You work with channel partners that do bring you business but depending on the channel partner they can be great or really really bad.
Work from home 1 day in office the other 4. Sales is out at 5pm every day and the occasional early release on Friday. Not much “hand to the flame” from leadership. Pretty relaxed overall. Browse Other Reviews
