I was recently presented a verbal offer at 5 pm on a Wednesday and I asked for a few negotiations. The recruiter said they would take the negotiations to the team and get back to me the next day. Come 1:30 pm on Thursday, the recruiter called me back and said they would not be able to accept my negotiations and that someone else agreed to take the position, so therefore my offer was no longer available. I was originally told by the hiring manager I would have 48 hours to decide and was not even given 24. Apparently, negotiations are not something common at the company and they will just give an offer to the fastest signer. Truly a poor representation of how they run their business, how they view talent, and how little respect they show for someone making a major life changing decision. The company could be great but throwing this out as it was a major red flag to me.
