Thinking of jumping ship from a VAR AM position. I am on track to making 90-110K this year but my current employer's commission structure is terrible (I bring in 3m annually). Assuming I can kick butt, can I make the 90-110 year one? Or is that unrealistic? What are the challenges? Thanks!

Yes you can. I made $185k my first year in the SMB sales channel however most people struggle to make quota and $110k is probably the nationwide average for the role.

If you land an enterprise role you should make around $140k with the ability to hit $300k.

This is not an easy job for most people. Churn is rather high.

Depending on where you live and what role you apply for, this is achievable.

SMB in Chicago has a base of $55K and OTE of $110. Enterprise in Texas has a base of $80K and OTE of $135K.

There are significant monthly bonuses for over-achievement. For Enterprise, there are deal caps but those are for a single sale that would essentially work out to be 2100% to Quota (a deal this large would pay you $130K). The monthly commissions themselves are uncapped.

Yes you can. OTE is roughly 105K depending on location. The top reps in division make 400K plus. Howveevr only about 40% of reps make quota.

Whatever you do, do not come to CB. Working for Comcast in general is great - but selling telecom with a bunch of boomers is like nails on a chalkboard. I am on the most prestigious team you can be on (selling to a few accounts only in F100) and it’s impossible to sell anything.

To answer your question, yes it's possible and very doable. The challenge will mainly be ramping up quickly and getting used to the systems.
