What does the ramp and training process look like at Avepoint for new sales team members? Did you feel adequately prepared for the challenges of the role?

There is no ramp up or guaranteed OTE for the first 3-6 months like other orgs.  After completing training (1-2 week process) you will be given accounts and a quota and have to start generating your own business.

The training is very generic and rushed.  Not a helpful onboarding process.  You will likely sit through training with all company wide new hires, then you might have a few 1 on 1s with your manager.  You will be given recorded training sessions, it is very much learn on your own time by yourself.  Add in a couple shadow sessions with current reps and you are done with "training".

From my experience, leadership doesn't like to help with basic things.  Internal processes like generating quotes, managing CRM, dealing with accounting or the SE team, etc. are not very streamlined processes and have a learning curve.  Management isn't very willing to help with these things, unless it's for a large deal.  Other sales reps can be very helpful though.

It's a pretty tough onboarding and training process.  Very much trial by fire.

Terrible onboarding. Weak leadership. Lack of collaboration. Run from this org, don’t walk. Comp plan is not accurate. Company expects results with no support.
