The company overhired for the sales team without building enough pipeline to support everyone—there just weren’t enough demo requests or meetings booked by SDRs. This put a lot of pressure on the team, and instead of addressing the pipeline issue, they let go of people, blaming it on ‘performance problems.’ It was clear there was no plan to scale or fix the lack of pipeline, and they continued letting more people go instead of tackling the root issue.
