What can you tell me about the sales culture at Venminder?

There were not any layoffs recently, so not sure why that was referenced in a previous post. We had let go of some employees due to performance. I think the sales culture has greatly improved from the past, but is indeed still strongly driven by a couple of executives who don't have much experience on the frontlines of sales at the company.

Sales reps are given a lot of autonomy if they are self-driven and take responsibility for their own success. So, it's a little bit sink or swim but there's been a renewed focus on sales training and enablement in the past year.  Depends on which part of the sales team you are on, as some receive more support and coaching than others depending on their manager.

Selling third-party risks solutions can be very difficult, as there is a lot to learn about not only the product, but about the industry and regulatory landscape. Some sellers struggle if they are coming from another industry or have only sold a simple Saas platform previously. It usually takes about a year or so to be fully comfortable, so it's recommended that you lean heavily on other reps, managers, and enablement resources in your first several months.

Your experience can vary depending on the team. Kind of feels like walking on eggshells sometimes. Management ranges from being transparent one day and making a big show of decisions that benefit the reps, and then walking them back a few days later.

layoffs happened recently. Were you to consider joining you may wish to err on the side of the Tier 2-3 teams.
