Is it feasible to meet sales targets at Udemy Business? How have these targets shifted over the past few quarters?

It is beyond unfeasible. Laughable almost.

Udemy Business had a golden era during the period when everyone was 100% remote. This pushed sales of Udemy beyond what was normal. The leaders now believe that those numbers are still the norm and for years now refuse to readjust quotas.

Your job success is set in stone based on this quota, which is so unattainable that if you get to 80% you are almost seen as a superstar. The norm is 50-70ish%.

However, during your ramp period, you will likely attain and they will plaster your name and metrics all over the place to increase morale, but once your ramp is over and you miss quota, you'll be PIP'd.

And then the show continues. How much talent will be burned (PIPd) to unrealistic, unattainable, and unadjusted quotas is the question every rep asks themselves at Udemy Business each morning as the pressure of being below targets swallows them into the inevitable PIP.

Not feasible, not realistic. Management is trying to put the pressure on AEs by constantly putting propale on PIPs. They even mentioned on the earnings calls that new AEs are reaching their quota. This is not true. Maybe they reached the ramp up quota.

Targets HAVE NOT shifted downwards. It is harder than ever to meet consistent quota, especially with the poor books people are handed (Especially if you aren't on the coasts, or have good accounts).

Quota attainment on my team last year (2023) was on average 28% unless you committed fraud (which happened). These leaders don't understand they overhired and it's no longer 2020 tech boom. Its been over for years.
