It seems like Sitecore's technology is falling behind other vendors in the same space. Is there confidence in the product from the sales team?

Sitecore spent billions to acquire new solutions which were multitenant cloud solutions- sitecore really badly wants to be mach and play in the headless and composable space like the modern cms tech.  Sitecore's legacy solutions (and the bulk of it's customers) remain as asp/hosted solutions with perpetual licenses.  Sitecore wants you to find ways to get customers to give up their very affordable perpetual license (which they've built and developed on for a long time) for the very expensive cloud solutions.  Leadership will have you focus on compliance as well - finding ways to punitively push your customers to change based on gotcha's from the 10+ year old license terms.  it can be rewarding for you, although painful from a relationship building standpoint as well as a churn standpoint.  some of these customers are stuck and will stick with sitecore - but to the point of this question, the cms and content space is competitive and sitecore prices and tech are often at odds with competitors which can deliver equivalent technology without the burden of the necessity for sitecore trained developers, sitecore partners implementations, and more ubiquitous and prevailing development standards.

beyond this, sitecore has made a habit of slashing and burning.  Both from a customer and a sales rep standpoint.  they spend a ton of money developing talented ae's, only to fire them when they aren't producing.  Meanwhile they have a stale and unproductive business development team where sdrs commonly have tenures OVER 3+ years, and a manager of that team who has been consistently awful at building competent reps and producing new business.  And they treat their customers so so so poorly - an avp had me resell a product to an existing customer who's contract lapsed - they were captive and using it, he threatened back charges to make them get it done before the quarter ended, and they renewed for 1 year and began looking at options to switch to adobe the next day.  even the highest levels of this company are focused on their short term best interests instead of the big picture - and the company is very much suffering because of it.  Their reputation, their products, their internal team alignment, -- few people inside the organization respect it unless they're being paid to.

new business at sitecore is next to non existent.  each person in presidents club has got there off the backs of existing customers.  the sitecore ecosystem is a land and expand model and farming accounts is where you want to be, they have next to no investment in attracting new business.

Two different platforms in AWS and Azure with overlapping products. Sitecore is up for sale and has been for a number of years. I would stay clear of Sitecore.

Attainment is very low and the company recently axed a lot of their executive leadership. Would steer clear of this dumpster fire.

Product is great we are well ahead of our competitors in the enterprise space. Look up Xm Cloud vs competition and you will find us well positioned. Sitecore has/had an incredible commission plan which I hope they keep next year. Big changes for our new fiscal year. Surprisingly a lot of people hit.
