Do you anticipate the sales team at Indeed.com expanding or downsizing in the upcoming year?

There is literally no possibility that the sales team at Indeed.com will grow, and every possibility that it will downsize in 2024.

Indeed is a company - defined by it's one and only product - that is entirely market dependent, and the market does not need it anymore. Every single sales rep can tell you that there is nearly nothing they can do to influence spend, clients can get significantly better results for less spend, and there is an overwhelming flood of talent on the market.

Not even getting into the lack of sales leadership across the board at every level, there have been many people leaving from every business unit and limited, if any attempts to back fill.

They are in no better macro business position than they were the last time layoffs happened, and there is no indication that the company is going to be able to innovate out of the current state of inflation/stagflation that is crippling many industries. It would also likely be a net benefit to remove sales headcount (one of the biggest expenses for the company) and simply fill the books of remaining reps to similar levels to 2-3 years ago. They are putting an ever increasing emphasis on arbitrary metric, which would be easier to fill if every rep had double to triple the accounts to reach out to.

If you're even kind of paying attention, it's pretty clear that things are about to go real south real fast

There hasn't been much hiring or even backfilling of roles lately. I think it's unlikely that the team grows. I don't think layoffs are likely, but maybe just continuing not to backfill as people leave and more accounts are moved to self serve.

I would think they will grow. A lot of accounts under management at the moment

I would say yes. But not like in previous years. I would say for enterprise and national we may see more new hires as remote options grow
