Leading product in market, but very saturated within target market. Leadership is constantly making changes to goals, initiatives, and expectations. As an AE, you’re expected to find and develop all your opportunities, sell these accounts, and manage a book of business. You also have to handle billing and accounts receivable in many cases. Leadership is slow to hire management. Many teams have gone 3-6 months without a direct report. The current comp plan initially penalized salespeople who didn’t hit “quota” for a completely separate product that was introduced early in the year and was separate from the quota for the product we were hired to sell. You are also penalized if you do not hit certain “in person” metrics which takes away from business development and selling. Direct reports do seem to care about employees and can empathize with salespeople given how many directions everyone has been pulled in this year
