How would you describe the sales culture at Awardco and what type of work environment can I expect as a member of the sales team?

Sales culture is toxic. Leadership creates unrealistic expectations based on what they want to be possible, not what is actually doable. Hardworking reps who fall on bad luck don’t get support. Changes occur way too frequently and treat the symptoms rather than the cause of the problems.

I got fired randomly without a PIP in place. That has happened a few times. They preach recognition but you won’t get recognized ironic I know. Also don’t count on their plans to last more than 6 months everything is constantly changing and 100% you need to source your own meetings.

You have to prospect and do the work. That's the bottom line. Currently, the AE role is a full sales cycle role and people who don't hit quota over the course of a year are likely going to get let go. Things are change just like any start up. Just don't expect to get showered with marketing leads. Their accelerators are richer than most, and you reach them within the quarter AND the year.

The sales org is so toxic. All the leadership are very under qualified. Just because you have been with the company for the longest time, doesn’t make you leadership material. In the past year or year and a half, they have let go around 20 reps for performance. They need to take a look in the mirror

The rest of the sales team (all the AE's and SDR's) are GREAT people. Some of the best to work with.  
The struggle is with leadership- inexperienced. Leadership loves to blame the IC without taking responsibility for any of it. They have major favoritism and say it publicly. Toxic place to be. Be ready to be a full-time SDR carrying a revenue quota.

Sales culture has gone down drastically. It’s sad to see how the Sales org went from being fun and winning to dreadful and toxic. You’ll work with the best people and the product is good but majority of the floor doesn’t hit their quotas. 80% of reps would leave if the job market wasn’t so bad.
