What’s the sales job market like right now? Just got laid off and don’t have tons of experience as an AE.

Tons of layoffs, fewer open roles, and hiring cycles are sloooow. If you don’t have a strong brand on your resume or a network feeding you warm intros, it’s hard. I’d say apply to AE-lite/Account Man roles (expansion, upsell, etc.) or even SDR if comp is okay. Pride can wait. Bills can’t.
Depends where you're looking. West coast SaaS is a dumpster fire. But I got offers from a couple cybersecurity startups in Austin and ATL. If you’re open to vertical switching + can live without a fat base, it’s doable. Just prep like hell when you actually get interviews. Too many people waste their at bats. Roleplay, objection handling, mock discovery, the works.
