I’m three months into a new role. My actual OTE is 60% less than what was agreed in my offer. I’m looking to leave but having a hard time getting interviews. Any advice on explaining why I want to leave?
They just lied. They blamed it on HR. Said it was a mistake that I was offered that OTE
Seems like you could just be honest that the org lied to you. If it's legit, they should recognize that as a good reason to want to leave. Is that not your experience so far?
It’s a mixed reaction. I’ve had a few convos now. Some people don’t like it, some are open to it
I don’t understand didn’t you sign an offer letter that plainly states your base salary and OTE? If If you didn’t, it’s on you
I should clarify, my base is as agreed but commission is 60% lower. They said they can raise my quota to hit that OTE, but I would have no chance to hit in that case. I did sign a doc, but their response has been “too bad”
That's a bummer. Lesson learned for next time, I guess.
What a rug pull. Did they change the comp plan after you started or did they just lie to you?
